Features

The Rhinohide Canopy is a universal canopy system designed for any tractor or mower with a Roll Over Protection System (ROPS), otherwise known as a roll bar.

True to its name, the Rhinohide Canopy is virtually unbreakable—made from a very high strength and lightweight plastic (HDPE). We have yet to hear of an encounter too strong for the canopy, yet at just 14 lb the shell is still lightweight enough for anyone to handle.

Remove your Rhinohide Canopy in just seconds with the twist of two hand screws. This is perfect if you need to remove the canopy for storage, trailering, low-clearance areas, or if you’re moving the canopy to the rear to cover your backhoe, or to another tractor or mower.

Our canopy is 37″ wide x 45″ deep. The closer you mount it to your head, the more shade it will provide. The best position for the canopy is about 15″ above your head when seated. These John Deere tractors with forward leaning roll bars push the mounting position of our canopy forward and reduce your rear shade coverage. Some customers mount above the roll bar, but we recommend against this as our canopy isn’t big enough to provide the best shade mounted so high. Others have notched their canopies have it sit further back between the roll bar. This makes removal much harder, but gives better shade on your back. Look at the photos to see where the back of the canopy sits in relation to the operator.

The angle of the ROPS and position of the backhoe seat on these models does not allow for a good solution for shade coverage while operating the backhoe. But, if you own a second machine with a roll bar that has a width within 4″ your John Deere’s roll bar, add the Backhoe/Multi Kit to your order and easily move your canopy from one machine to the other. Note you can compare the outside-to-outside width of the narrower roll bar to the inside-to-inside width of the wider roll bar.
